“Bexar County Tax office”:Southside residents had to go downtown for the closest Bexar County Tax Office. The southside substaion was closed due to a crash-and-grab. Sometime Monday night thieves crashed into the building and took the entire ATM.

Bexar County Tax-Assessor Collector Sylvia S. Romo said the Bexar County substation on the southside at 640 S.W. Military Drive should reopen Thursday morning. She said the damage is extensive and she’ll look at ways to tighten security.

“Not until I came in this morning was I really surprised as to the amount of damage that was done to this office,” said Romo. “We don’t know exactly how much they took, but I can tell you that this is a massive expense having to reconstruct the office.
