SINGAPORE: Oil prices hovered above $81 a barrel Wednesday in Asia after a report showed mixed evidence about U.S. crude demand. Benchmark crude for April delivery was up 5 cents to $81.54 a barrel at midday Singapore time in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
WASHINGTON : The US space shuttle fleet can continue flying beyond Nasa’s September 30 deadline if the money is made available to keep it going, a US space agency official told reporters on Tuesday. “I think the real issue that the agency and the nation has to address is the expense,” said Space Shuttle Program Manager John Shannon, noting the shuttle fleet costs the National Aeronautics and Space Administration 200 million dollars per month to maintain it in working condition. “Where that money comes from is the big question,” he added.

With no strong signals from the United States, regional investors were awaiting the figures from China that could dictate Beijing’s monetary policy.
Afghan President Hamid Karzai is arriving in Pakistan today on a two-day visit. During his stay, Karzai would meet with President Zardari and Prime Minister Gilani.
