MORGANTOWN — If you like free pancakes, Tuesday was your day.
IHOP hosted their annual “National Pancake Day” to help the Children’s Miracle Network raise money.
Restaurants across the country, including the Morgantown location, gave away pancakes, only asking its patrons to donate to the Children’s Miracle Network instead.
IHOP has a national goal of raising two million dollars in the one day. The Morgantown location wants to beat last year’s total of $3,000.
“It’s great and we have a good response from the community,” said manager Joe Yurko. “The people from Children’s hospital come in their representatives, and they help us out, we’ll have some Miss West Virginia pageant hopefuls in today, trying to help us a little bit, but it’s all local. Everything we take in goes right back to Children’s Miracle Network.”
The promotion began at 7 a.m. By 10:30 a.m., Yurko said they’d flipped more than 300 free stacks for customers. It lasted until 10 p.m.
